OATH Announces Rebrand as OATH Recovery, Inc., Expanding Its Commitment to Recovery, Housing, and Hope in Southeast Georgia

The Okefenokee Alliance for the Homeless (OATH), known throughout the community for its work serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing instability, is entering a new chapter as OATH Recovery, Inc.

The new name reflects the growth of the organization and a broader commitment to helping individuals and families overcome the many challenges that can stand between them and long-term stability. While housing and homelessness services remain an important part of the organization’s work, OATH Recovery is expanding its focus on recovery from substance use disorder, connection to resources, and whole-person support.

OATH Recovery serves individuals and families throughout Ware, Pierce, and Brantley counties. The organization recognizes that homelessness, substance use, mental health challenges, financial hardship, and other barriers are often interconnected. OATH Recovery seeks to meet people where they are and help them identify a path toward stability, recovery, and self-sufficiency.

Services and support available through OATH Recovery include:

  • Housing assistance and housing-stability planning
  • Recovery support and connection to substance use disorder services
  • Connection to individual and group counseling and behavioral health services
  • Assistance connecting with healthcare and other community resources
  • Employment and training resources
  • Assistance accessing benefits and supportive services
  • Transportation coordination and other recovery supports
  • Referrals and individualized care coordination
  • Advocacy and ongoing support for individuals and families working toward greater stability

As a Recovery Community Organization, OATH Recovery also recognizes the importance of peer support, lived experience, community connection, and giving individuals a voice in their own recovery.

The transition to OATH Recovery, Inc. represents growth, but it does not change the organization’s commitment to the people who have always been at the heart of its mission.

OATH’s roots began with addressing homelessness in Southeast Georgia and recognizing that individuals and families needed more than temporary assistance. They needed connection, advocacy, resources, encouragement, and people willing to walk alongside them as they worked toward lasting change.

Today, OATH Recovery continues that work with an expanded vision: addressing not only the immediate circumstances a person may be facing, but also the barriers that can make achieving long-term stability difficult.

The organization believes every person deserves the power of choice, the strength of encouragement, and access to a continuum of care that supports self-sufficiency.
